General Surgery Mission Trips

Typical surgeries that might be performed during a general surgery mission trip include:

  • Hernia repair
  • Imperforate anus repair
  • Removal of masses and/or cysts
  • Cholecystectomies
  • Splenectomies

On average, 65 surgeries are performed per mission week.

There are no language requirements for mission teams as The Moore Center provides translators.

Previous General Surgery teams include: Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Children's Hospital Colorado and Mending Kids with Duke University
